Bancassurance Congress
October 5/6, 2017 Bancassurance Congress is a cyclical conference organized by zeb since 2009, and since 2011 jointly by the Polish Bank Association and the Polish Chamber of Insurance. Every year the Congress attracts about 200 participants – representatives of the banking and insurance industry as well as representatives of law firms and consulting firms. Its main purpose is to summarize the year with regard to the development trends of the bancassurance market, changes in the legislative environment and relations with consumers.
Main Partner of Congress of the Derivatives market
zeb was the Main Content Partner of the 7th Congress of the Derivatives Market and the 3rd MiFID Congress, organized by the Polish Bank Association. This year's seventh edition of the Congress, which took place on 28th/29th of November 2016 in Warsaw, focused on the principles of providing investment services by investment firms to their customers and their impact on the financial instruments market, impacted by MiFID II / MIFIR regulations. Maciej Meder, Managing Director of zeb.Poland and Guenther Blaha, Senior Manager at zeb, presented their insights on the challenges resulting from MiFID II, sharing their vast experience from selected projects at Polish and European banks. On the second day of the Congress, Maciej Meder moderated the discussion panel on the impact of MiFID/PRIIPS/IDD on investment and insurance products landscape in Poland. Partner of Postgraduate Studies on Bank Management
zeb is the official content partner of postgraduate studies on bank management at Warsaw School of Economics, the leading economics university in Poland and CEE. The studies, under the direction of professor Małgorzata Iwanicz-Drozdowska, enable students to gain comprehensive knowledge on the functioning of the banks in a fast changing environment. The program of the studies covers modern aspects of management accounting and controlling, risk management, sales and client relations management and bank restructuring. MIFID II Congress review
MIFID II Congress, co-organized by the Polish Bank Association and zeb. on the 15th October, was a successful achievement, broadly discussed in the Polish financial world. Due to increasing interest on the subject of the MiFID II regulations and changes that it entails in the financial sector, the event proved to be an excellent response to the market needs.
Over 100 various professionals, including executives from major financial institutions in Poland attended the Congress and many actively participated in the activities. Heated discussions followed each lecture, where all participants were able to express their opinions and share their experience.
zeb in Russia
The biggest step made to date was the opening of our Russian Office in 2014. This youngest office is an important milestone in the expansion of the zeb group in the financial services markets of Central and Eastern Europe.

Around 50 participants from 25 leading Russian banks attended a zeb workshop in Moscow earlier this week.
Alexey Lobanov, Head of Banking Regulation at the Bank of Russia (CBR), started the discussion with a statement on concentration risk and limit systems. Questions of concentration risk management, traditionally relevant for many Russian banks, become even more important due to more stringent requirements imposed by the CBR in course of ICAAP implementation.
The presentation by zeb Manager Natalia Lykova covered the core components of a robust concentration risk management system and the utilization of limit systems for this purpose, supported by practical insights from zeb project experience.

Russian banking sector is currently in the active phase of ICAAP implementation, with rather short deadlines and many questions arising from this new form of regulatory requirements. In order to ensure the exchange of options and experience and assist the efficient communication between banks and the banking regulator, the Association of Russian Banks (ARB) and PRMIA are hosting a Forum "Banking Risk Regulation 2016" with a core discussion topic "ICAAP for Russian banks: a challenge or an opportunity?".
